Royally Served
As part of the 2026–2028 administration, GFWC Florida Director of Junior Clubs Sherry Clendinen has chosen Royally Served as her Director’s Project, a statewide initiative inviting clubs to address food insecurity with compassion, dignity, and purpose.
Clubs across Florida are invited to join together in nourishing bodies, restoring dignity, and serving with love. Through food drives, meal packing events, community gardens, food pantry support, and hands-on service projects, clubs will work to make a meaningful difference in communities throughout the state.
Why It Matters
In 2025, an estimated 3.2 million Floridians faced food insecurity, including more than 800,000 children. Many families struggle to access nutritious meals on a consistent basis, forcing impossible choices between food and other basic necessities. Food insecurity affects physical health, emotional well-being, academic performance, and overall quality of life.
Royally Served is about more than providing meals. It is about ensuring that every person served feels valued, respected, and cared for, because everyone deserves to be treated like royalty. A warm meal served with compassion can restore hope, dignity, and a sense of community.
How Your Club Can Participate
Clubs are encouraged to get involved by:
- Supporting local food banks and pantries
- Organizing meal packing projects
- Creating community gardens
- Supporting backpack and snack programs for children
- Serving individuals and families in need within your community
Over the next two years, the goal of Royally Served is to help provide 250,000 meals to individuals and families facing food insecurity across Florida. Together, we can make a meaningful difference, one meal, one act of kindness, and one life at a time.
