The official Call to the GFWC Southern Region Conference Annual Meeting has been received and all GFWC Florida clubwomen are cordially invited to attend this important and exciting meeting. It will be held on October 23-26, 2008 at the Jackson Marriott, Jackson, Mississippi.

“Strength in Knowing” Breast Cancer Risk Factors – featuring a representative of Eli Lilly and Company
The dress for Friday and Saturday evenings will be semi-formal/formal; business casual for Saturday and Sunday sessions; and GFWC apparel for the Friday tour.
Tentative schedule:
Thursday: Executive Board meeting for SRC officers, state presidents, state directors of junior clubs, SRC chairmen
Friday: 9 am – 3 pm Tour of the city
Special membership workshop (by invitation only)
Mississippi State night
Saturday:
8 am – Workshops
10 am – Business meeting (open to all attendees)
12:30 Domestic Violence luncheon
Afternoon workshops including report from 2008 LEADS attendees
7 pm – dinner with Rose Ditto as speaker
Sunday: Eli Lilly speaker – “Strength in Knowing”
The clubwomen of GFWC Mississippi have planned a fun and exciting weekend for us. The tour on Friday will include a tour of the Governor’s Mansion, the Art Museum, and a historic shopping area. They even have plans for Boosters. Mark your place and make a date for true Southern hospitality, fun and fellowship.
It is hoped that all who attend will gain knowledge, make new friends, and return to their state with enthusiasm and love for Federation. Shelby in “Steel Magnolias” said, “I would rather have thirty minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special.” Come experience that time of wonderful! See you all in Jackson among the magnolias.
